How to Heal from Shame

Shame has a way of tearing down confidence and building insecurities.

Shame can be brought on by our own actions or by someone else actions.

It’s a feeling that can make someone want to hide, and often takes time to break from the feeling of shame. Feeling shame is unfortunately a part of life, but there are many ways to heal from it.

1. FIND OUT WHY YOU FEEL THE SHAME.

What exactly about the situation made you feel shame? Get to the root of the feeling, so you can know exactly where you need to heal.

2. REMIND YOURSELF THAT YOU ARE NOT DEFINED BY THE SHAME

Don’t carry this incident with you for the rest of your life. This moment does not have to define you. We can take this moment, call it out for what it was, heal from it and move on.

3. CREATE A MANTRA THAT HELPS YOU BREAK FROM THE SHAME

For example: I love and accept myself or The past is in the past, I am working to better my future!

I challenge you to see more to your shame. Look deep into the mirror and allow yourself to be 100% honest and vulnerable with yourself about yourself. It is only when we can be honest with ourselves that we truly have the ability to grow.

Use your power for you, not against you.
